Spot the tree climbing lions in Lake Manyara & enjoy the hospitality of a lodge & the romance of a tented camp in the Tanzanian bush. Visit the alkaline Lake of the Natron to discover its unique features, especially about the Flamingoes.
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
We will pick you up from your hotel at 8am and take you to Tarangire national park. Tarangire is famous for its diverse landscape with nine different vegetation zones. The park is particularly known for the abundance of Ancient Baobab trees (the largest trees in the continent) which fill the landscape and dwarf the animals next to them. The river of the park is full of wildlife ranging from a large variety of birds to lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes and, of course, elephants. In fact, the park has the largest concentration of elephants in the whole country and provides unique chances to observe the interaction between elephant families. The lunch area is fascinating, boasting an observatory with amazing views to the river and wildlife (with good chances of seeing a hunt while having your picnic). In the afternoon we will still do a game drive before continuing to your accommodation.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park to Lake Manyara National Park
Drive to lake Manyara national park for game drive, lake Manyara is a shallow alkaline lake in Tanzania. It is said to be the “loveliest lake in Africa, Lake Manyara is covering 127 square miles (329 km2) of Lake Manyara national park, the lake’s alkaline waters cover approximately 89 square miles (231 km2). It is famous for a good number of baboons and birdlife, also home to herbivores such as hippos, impalas, elephants, wildebeests, buffalo, warthogs, and giraffes, giant fig trees and mahogany seen in the groundwater forest immediately around the park gates. Stay overnight at the Camp or Lodge.
Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park to Lake Natron
After breakfast, drive to Lake Natron, arrival and checking at the lodge or camp. We will enjoy the spectacular tour in the soda Lake of Natron and the beautiful waterfall flow from highlands toward the direction of Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Lake Natron is lying in a beautiful scenic area below the Rift Valley escarpment. Lake Natron has such a high concentration of sodium, that the water is often vicious to the touch. There are good game viewing and birding in this harsh landscape with dry country species such as gerenuk, lesser kudu, and Oryx. Natron is also the only known breeding ground for East Africa’s millions of lesser flamingos which cover the lake between August and October. Overnight at the lodge or camp.
Day 4: Lake Natron to Arusha
After a wake-up call with coffee and cookies, you will prepare for your transfer to Arusha for your departure arrangement.
